Fat Tuesday Breakfast Celebration Feb 13th

FAT TUESDAY CELEBRATION TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM Lent will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14.  On Tuesday, February 13, everyone is invited to join us at Cross of Glory for a Fat Tuesday Celebration.  Why do Americans call it Fat Tuesday? Fat Tuesday, also called Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras, is the celebratory carnival that leads up to the beginning of Lent, the season of fasting and penitence. Given that Lent was a season of fasting, it makes sense that households would traditionally consume all remaining foods that would be forbidden during Lent, such as meat, eggs, and dairy products, as Ash Wednesday approached. Make plans to be with us anytime from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM to enjoy YOUR celebratory breakfast consisting of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice. Donations will be accepted to help defray costs to support the work of helping needy people in our community. Admission is at least one can of soup to be given to Metro Caring!!!  Thank you, Michael Schettler, for helping to provide this special celebration for us.
