Zoom Link for Feb 26 10am and Mar 1st Noon Services

Good morning everyone!
Lent is here! And hopefully, not as many Wednesday snow showers! Remember, so as NOT to have folks driving at night, we are hosting Lenten worship services on Wednesdays throughout March at 12 NOON! Come to Cross of Glory this Wednesday, March 1st at NOON as we consider how Christ turns our mourning into joy. Pass the word! The same link below can be used to allow you to see both Sunday morning 10 AM worship services at church as well as NOON Wednesday Lenten services.

As always, you will find the Celebrate and the Hymns included in this email.Thank you, Craig and Mary!
Please plan on staying after church beginning at 11:30 tomorrow for our Power Hour, a concentrated time for prayer. Appropriate especially for Lent, we will be praying after worship beginning at 11:30 each Sunday. And yes, don’t worry, you will have time for goodies after church before our Power Hour!!!
Please keep Cross of Glory charter member Barbara Palmer in your prayers. Barbara has been failing these last days. Remember children Jay, Rosemary (the first baby baptized at Cross of Glory) and Jon in your hearts as well.
And then, pray for Doug Clair and family as Doug has been moved back to HighPointe following his Swedish Hospital stay of last week given his fall.
Busy, busy!
See you tomorrow!
Pastor Mike Lemke
PS: Thank you to Michael Schettler, our chef for last Tuesday’s unmatched breakfast. What a wonderful time we had!  Sorry if you missed it!!!
PPS: Consider being with us for Adult Sunday School at 9 AM each Sunday morning!  What a great way to devote yourself to the Scriptures during this precious season of Lent!
PPPS: I have been seeing our shut-in Pat Lemster weekly as she is really struggling with her situation in Assisted Living. Mary (Mom) went with me the other day to see her. Pat was upbeat… which was wonderful to see.  Her son-in-law and family are attempting to help her downsize which unfortunately, isn’t making Pat very happy. She is presently staying at Cherrelyn HealthCare Center. Her address there is 5555 South Elati, #318B, Littleton, CO 80120.  I’m sure she would appreciate hearing from you!

OPENING HYMN

“Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word”

 ELW Page 517    (Verses 1, 2, 3)

1.

Lord, keep us steadfast in your Word;
Curb those who by deceit or sword
Would wrest the kingdom from your Son
And bring to naught all he has done.

2.

Lord Jesus Christ, your power make known,
For you are Lord of lords alone;
Defend your holy Church, that we
May sing your praise eternally.

3.

O Comforter of priceless worth,
Send peace and unity on earth;
Support us in our final strife
And lead us out of death to life.

 SERMON HYMN

“I Want Jesus to Walk with Me”

 ELW Page 325   (Verses 1, 2, 3)

     1.

 I want Jesus to walk with me;
     I want Jesus to walk with me;
    All along my pilgrim journey,
       Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.

    2.

       In my trials, Lord, walk with me;
       In my trials, Lord, walk with me;
        When my heart is almost breaking,

        Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.
    3.

    When I’m in trouble, Lord walk with me;
    When I’m in trouble, Lord walk with me;
    When my head is bowed in sorrow,
    Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me.

CLOSING HYMN

“O Lord, Throughout These Forty Days”

 ELW Page 319    (Verses 1, 2, 4)

  1.

 O Lord, throughout these forty days
you prayed and kept the fast;

Inspire repentance for our sin,

And free us from our past.

2.

You strove with Satan, and you won;

Your faithfulness endured;

Lend us your nerve, your skill and trust

In God’s eternal word.

4.

Be with us through

this season, Lord,
and all our earthly days,
that when the final Easter dawns,
we join in heaven’s praise.
