OUR OUTREACH FOCUS FOR NOVEMBER IS THE SECOND WIND FUND.  Founded in 2002, the Second Wind Fund has served over 5,800 children and youth at risk for suicide.  They take a different approach to this serious mental health issue.  They have an innovative program that matches children and youth, ages 19 and younger, with a licensed therapist in their community.  Up to 12 counseling sessions are made available to youth at risk for suicide. Referrals to the program typically are generated by school mental health staff, but home-schooled youth or those no longer in school are also eligible for counseling services. Second Wind Fund’s program helps referred youth discover hope and healing in their lives.

METRO CARING NOVEMBER FOOD FOCUS: The Outreach Committee has designated CANNED FRUIT AND/OR VEGETABLES for those less fortunate. Please place your food donations in the boxes located in the narthex marked “Metro Caring.” A Big Orange Box, located outside, can be used for donations of any kind – anytime!

SPECIAL OUTREACH PROGRAM: Through HarvestShare, we will be providing full food boxes to MetroCaring the week before Thanksgiving.  Special flyers describing our food requests can be obtained from our ushers. The boxes should be brought to the church no later than Sunday, November 17.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD shoebox filler items are currently being collected.  Empty shoeboxes are also available for anyone who wants to create a complete shoebox gift. Filler items can include school supplies, small toys and personal care items. Please do not donate candy, toothpaste, war-related items, chocolate or food, seeds, fruit rolls/snacks, liquids vitamins, aerosol cans or breakable items, as these items cannot be included in shoebox gifts.You can place your filler items in the special donation boxes in the fellowship room.  The deadline   for  Operation Christmas Child donations is Sunday, November 17.
