Given how very busy this week is, we will not be having Zoom Bible Study this Tuesday evening.  Hopefully, instead, you will be able to join us for the remaining week worship services:
1.  Maundy Thursday 4 PM, Thursday, March 28th at Cross of Glory2.  Good Friday, 4 PM, Friday, March 29th at Prince of Peace3.  Prayer Vigil, anytime between 9 AM and 3 PM in our Cross of Glory sanctuary
And then…
Easter, on Sunday, March 31st will be observed at church both at 7:30 AM and at 10 AM.  There will be a potluck Easter breakfast in-between at 8:30 AM and a Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt at 9:15. Please consider joining Lisa Schmidt from church in donating some candy by tomorrow so we can fill Easter eggs with goodies!
7 of us from church will be meeting at Cross of Glory this upcoming Wednesday morning at 10 AM to hang on community doors 500 Easter invitation fliers to our church.  Do the math.  That will be 70 or so houses per person.  Would you be willing to meet us at 10 AM also to cut down on the work?  Oh, how we would appreciate your help… and… feet!!!

Thanks to Patricia Stevens, Jan Reich, Lynn Reid, Julie Prange, Mary Lemke and Jean Binks for their willingness to “personalize” the 72 special Easter invite letters (with handwritten notes) sent out recently to prospective attendees of our soon-to-be Easter celebration. What a chore!

Lastly, do get back in touch with Jan Reich about your interest in yoga classes at church beginning the week of April 14.  The more, the merrier!  The more, the cheaper the cost!
Busy, busy, busy… life-filled, life-filled, life-filled!

Be part!  BE THE CHURCH!

CROSS OF GLORY MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

  MARCH 24 – 31, 2024

EVERY SUNDAY

Worship Service/Holy Communion at 10:00 AM at COG and With Zoom Technology

Prior to our 10:00 AM Worship Service, plan to be with us for our Adult Bible Study at COG at 9:00 AM!  It’s an amazing way to begin your Sunday! (No Adult Bible Study on Easter!)

HOLY WEEK

MARCH 24, PALM SUNDAY WORSHIP

 AT CROSS OF GLORY AND VIA ZOOM, 10:00 AM

Palm Sunday is always the Sunday before Easter.  It begins Holy Week.  Jesus rode victoriously into Jerusalem days before His crucifixion.  The crowds wanted to immediately crown Him King.  Jesus would soon reiterate, in word and deed, that His Kingdom was not of this world.

POWER HOUR PRAYER MINISTRY

We are encouraged to pray.  God knows our needs, our joys even before we approach heaven’s throne of grace. God wants us to pray because WE WILL BE THE BETTER FOR IT! After worship each Sunday, beginning at 11:30 AM, we invite you to return to our sanctuary for 30 minutes of concentrated prayer. Joining other friends from church, we pray for ourselves, for others, for all.  Be better! Enhance your friendship with God… and with one another!

                          NO TUESDAY, MARCH 26 6:30 PM BIBLE STUDY

          THURSDAY, MARCH 28

MAUNDY THURSDAY WORSHIP SERVICE-CROSS OF GLORY AND VIA ZOOM, 4:00 PM

Maundy Thursday, “the night in which He (Jesus) was betrayed,” was eerie indeed! “This is MY body!  This is My blood!”  Maundy means “Commandment,” and it was at the Last Supper that Jesus shared a “New Commandment” with His disciples.  He commanded His followers to love others. Hours later, Jesus would show the disciples… and the world… the depth of HIS love.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29

GOOD FRIDAY WORSHIP SERVICE AT PRINCE OF PEACE, 4:00 PM

 Good Friday is the greatest of all Fridays, the day God demonstrated how “Good” He really is. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Nails did not keep Jesus on the cross. It was God’s good, great love for us that did. Let us all be in worship on Good Friday as we remember the extent of God’s continual love for us.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

PRAYER VIGIL AT CROSS OF GLORY

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Coinciding with the hours Jesus hung on the cross, we will once again host our Easter Prayer Vigil in our sanctuary.  Be with us any time between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a time of concentrated prayer.  Prayer cards will be available for you to fill out if you desire your requests and celebrations to be shared with others.

ELW Page 344

 (Verses 1, 3, 5)

1.

All glory, laud, and honor – To You, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children  Made sweet hosannas ring.

You are the King of Israel and David’s royal Son,
Now in the Lord’s name coming,  Our King and Blessed One.

Refrain:

All glory, laud, and honor – To You, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children  Made sweet hosannas ring.

3.

The multitude of pilgrims  With palms before You went;Our praise and prayer and anthems  Before You we present.

Refrain:

All glory, laud, and honor – To You, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children  Made sweet hosannas ring.

5.

Their praises you accepted;  Accept the prayers we bring,
Great author of all goodness,  Oh good and gracious King.

Refrain:

All glory, laud, and honor – To You, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children  Made sweet hosannas ring.

HYMN OF THE DAY

“CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS”

ELW Page 855

 (Verses 1, 3, 5)

1.

Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns  All music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King  Through all eternity.

3.

Crown Him the Lord of Love. Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above,  In beauty glorified.
No angels in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bend their burning eyes at mysteries so bright!

5.

Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me;
Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.

CLOSING HYMN

“LEAD ON, O KING ETERNAL”

ELW Page 805

(Verses 1, 2, 3)

1.

Lead on, O King eternal,
the day of march has come;
henceforth in fields of conquest
your tents will be our home.
Through days of preparation
your grace has made us strong;
and now, O King eternal,
we lift our battle song.

2.

Lead on, O King eternal,
till sin’s fierce war shall cease,
and holiness shall whisper
the sweet amen of peace.
For not with swords’ loud clashing
nor roll of stirring drums,
but deeds of love and mercy
the heavenly kingdom comes.

3.

Lead on, O King eternal;
we follow, not with fears,
for gladness breaks like morning
where’er your face appears.
Your cross is lifted o’er us,
we journey in its light;

the crown awaits the conquest;
lead on, O God of might.
