LENTEN, HOLY WEEK/EASTER WORSHIP SCHEDULE Alternating our worship services and locations, our Lenten season began on Ash Wednesday, February 14 as we worshipped with our friends at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2400 South Colorado Boulevard in their sanctuary or in our homes with the help of their video link. At the following Wednesday 4:00 PM Lenten Service, we gathered at Cross of Glory for worship in our sanctuary and/or in our homes with the help of our ZOOM ministry. The alternating schedule will continue until Easter. For the Wednesday Lenten Services, using Holden Evening Prayer as our format, we have… and will continue to present… insights into special hymns that Pastor Mike and Pastor Todd have selected as their sermon topics. We encourage you to join us for our remaining Wednesday 4:00 PM ZOOM Worship Services in our Cross of Glory sanctuary or in your homes on March 6 and 20. On March 13, we will worship at Prince of Peace or with their video link. March 24, Palm Sunday Worship at Cross of Glory and via ZOOM, 10:00 AM Palm Sunday is always the Sunday before Easter. It begins Holy Week. Jesus rode victoriously into Jerusalem days before His crucifixion. The crowds wanted to immediately crown Him King. Jesus would soon reiterate, in word and deed, that His Kingdom was not of this world. March 28, Maundy Thursday Worship Service at Cross of Glory and via ZOOM 4:00 PM Maundy Thursday, “the night in which He (Jesus) was betrayed,” was eerie indeed! “This is MY body! This is My blood!” Maundy means “Commandment,” and it was at the Last Supper that Jesus shared a “New Commandment” with His disciples. He commanded His followers to love others. Hours later, Jesus would show the disciples… and the world… the depth of HIS love. March 29, Good Friday Worship Service at Prince of Peace, 4:00 PM Good Friday is the greatest of all Fridays, the day God demonstrated how “Good” He really is. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Nails did not keep Jesus on the cross. It was God’s good, great love for us that did. Let us all be in worship on Good Friday as we remember the extent of God’s continual love for us. March 30, Saturday Prayer Vigil at Cross of Glory, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Coinciding with the hours Jesus hung on the cross, we will once again host our Easter Prayer Vigil in our sanctuary. Be with us any time between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a time of concentrated prayer. Prayer cards will be available for you to fill out if you desire your requests and celebrations to be shared with others. March 31, Easter Sunday We will celebrate Easter! Pass the word! Bring family members and friends! Jesus is risen! He is risen indeed! On Easter morning, we will host our 7:30 AM Sunrise Easter service and 10:00 AM traditional Easter service for in-person worship at Cross of Glory and via ZOOM! Enjoy Easter breakfast at the church beginning at 8:30 AM. What a glorious morning it will be for us at Cross of Glory! |
