RALLY SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 OUTREACH SERVICE PROJECT OPERATION: HYGIENE

While the pandemic has altered our way of having a Rally Day service project this year, we still can make a difference in other people’s lives!  The need for personal hygiene is especially critical as people try to avoid contracting COVID-19.  Julie Prange has applied for the funding of a Thrivent Action Team Project.  Assuming approval, personal hygiene products will be purchased.  In addition, we ask you to consider purchasing either full-size or travel-size personal hygiene items as shown on the lists below.  You can bring your items to our outdoor worship service on September 13 or place them in “BOB” any time in September.  Please note that all donations must be new and unopened.

Full-size items will be combined to make hygiene kits for new families registering at Bienvenidos Food Bank.  Bienvenidos is a food pantry that has been supporting families in need since 1976.  If you wish, you can assemble a family kit yourself in a plastic grocery bag with the following FULL-SIZE items:  1 Shampoo, 1 Toothpaste, 2 Toothbrushes, 2 Bars of Soap and 2 Razors.

Travel-size hygiene products and baby supplies will be given to The Gathering Place.  The Gathering Place (TGP) is the only day shelter in metro Denver that serves women, transgender individuals and their children.  Their services include meals, educational programs, medical screenings, counselings and a food pantry.  The smaller-sized toiletries are needed for distribution on a day-to-day basis.
