LUTHERAN FAMILY SERVICES
Lutheran Family Services’ mission is to strengthen, heal and provide hope for individuals and families in the Rocky Mountain region.  Established in 1948, LFSRM is a faith-based, non-profit organization providing adoption, foster care, older adult attention and refugee services.  LFSRM believes that all people, from the newborn to the most aged, are valued people.  LFSRM attempts to recognize areas of need and find ways to serve those in our society who may otherwise be marginalized.
LFSRM is now one of the largest private foster care providers in the state and the largest refugee resettlement agency in the Rocky Mountain region. LFSRM places children in foster care who have been abused or neglected.  Each child’s individual needs are addressed when he/she is placed in a foster home that provides stable structure and love. 
Since 1975, refugee resettlement services have been coordinated by LFSRM.  This includes housing, employment, English language and cultural orientation.  Cross of Glory has been active in this program, sponsoring several refugees from Vietnam, Ethiopia and Armenia.
Older adult attentions and caregiver supports are additional programs provided by Lutheran Family Services.  With offices in five Colorado cities and Albuquerque, New Mexico, LFSRM has served thousands of people in the Rocky Mountain area.  LFSRM is always in need of volunteers. Call 303-922-3433.

June Food Item of the Month
PEANUT BUTTER
The need at Denver’s food bank, Metro Caring, becomes even greater during the summer months when school is not in session.  There are no school lunch programs to feed children.  You can help families get a good start on the day with your food donations of peanut butter or any nutritious items. Items for Metro Caring’s food bank may be left inside Cross of Glory’s front door Narthex (available when the church is open) and “BOB”, our Big Orange Box, located outside Cross of Glory’s front door, (available 24/7).  Thank you for your generosity!
