Nov 26th Worship Zoom Link plus Pastor Mike “Thoughts for the Week”

Cross of Glory and Friends!
How wonderful to live in gorgeous Colorado… where we reach record highs one day and plummet to rain and snow the next!  I once met a guy who skied AND played golf on the SAME DAY while living in the Mile High City!
Well, whether you choose to be on the slopes or on the links, MAN DO I HAVE A LINK FOR YOU!

Here is the link for tomorrow’s 10 AM service:

CROSS OF GLORY MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

 NOVEMBER 26, 2023 – DECEMBER 3, 2023

EVERY SUNDAY

Prior to our 10:00 AM Worship Service, plan to be with us for our Adult Bible Study at COG at 9:00 AM!  It’s an amazing way to begin your Sunday!

POWER HOUR PRAYER MINISTRY

We are encouraged to pray.  God knows our needs, our joys even before we approach heaven’s throne of grace. God wants us to pray because WE WILL BE THE BETTER FOR IT!

After worship each Sunday, beginning at 11:30 AM, we invite you to return to our sanctuary for 30 minutes of concentrated prayer. Joining other friends from church, we pray for ourselves, for others, for all.  Be better! Enhance your friendship with God… and with one another!

SUNDAY. NOVEMBER 26

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Advent is a special time of the year.  We have many additional “ministry opportunities” available to celebrate – Advent readers, sharing musical talent, etc.  Thank you for contacting  Mary Lemke about your availability!

SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Please make every effort to be with us in our Cross of Glory sanctuary or via our ZOOM technology to attend church on Sunday, December 3.   We will hold a brief Congregational Meeting, after worship, to vote on new 2024 Council representatives. We thank those ahead of time who have volunteered to be considered for Council positions soon-to-be vacated.  If the Nominating Committee asks you to serve our church as a 2024 Councilperson, please say, “Yes!”  They have steeped their conversations in prayer and believe you are the right person for the task.

Opening Hymn

Crown Him with Many Crowns

ELW Page 855

Vs. 1, 2, 4

1.

Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.

2. Crown Him the Virgin’s Son,
The God incarnate born,
Whose arm those crimson trophies won
Which now His brow adorn;

Fruit of the mystic rose,

Yet of that rose the stem;

The root whence mercy ever flows,

The Babe of Bethlehem.

4. Crown Him the Lord of Life
Who triumphed o’er the grave
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save.
His glories now we sing
Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.

Sermon Hymn

“Lead on King Eternal”

ELW Page 805

Vs. 1, 2, 3

  1. Lead on, O King eternal!
    The day of march has come;
    henceforth in fields of conquest
    your tents shall be our home.
    Through days of preparation
    your grace has made us strong;
    and now, O King eternal,
    we lift our battle song.

2. Lead on, O King eternal,
till sin’s fierce war shall cease,
and holiness shall whisper
the sweet amen of peace.
For not with swords loud clashing,
nor roll of stirring drums;
but deeds of love and mercy
the heavenly kingdom comes.

3. Lead on, O King eternal,
we follow, not with fears,
for gladness breaks like morning
where’er thy face appears.
Your cross is lifted o’er us,
we journey in its light;
the crown awaits the conquest;
lead on, O God of might.

Closing Hymn

“Praise to Lord, the Almighty”

ELW Page 858

Vs. 1, 3, 4

  1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
      the King of creation!
    O my soul, praise Him, for He is your
      health and salvation!
        Let all who hear,
    Now to His temple draw near;
    Joining in glad adoration!

3. Praise to the Lord,

who will prosper your work

and defend you;
Surely His goodness and mercy

 shall daily attend you;
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
If with His love he befriend you.

4. Praise to the Lord!

Oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
All that has life and breath,

come now with praises before Him;
Let the Amen sound from His people again,
Gladly forever adore Him!
